The LEED® Silver-certified Educational Service Center is the headquarters for the Minneapolis Public School System, the largest school district in Minnesota. The project rests on approximately 6.4 acres in the city’s heart and includes 165,000 square feet of office space and 535 parking stalls.
Landform led the civil engineering and survey efforts and closely coordinated with the architect, general contractor, and Minneapolis Public Schools to minimize the development’s impact on the surrounding urban environment. Pervious pavements reduce runoff, while roof runoff is captured in a 30,000-gallon cistern for irrigation. Subsurface retention systems allow for the control of stormwater release down to presettlement levels.
