Landform Powers Medart’s Expansion with New Distribution Hub in Albertville

Landform, a leading multi-disciplinary firm in Minneapolis and Elk River, is thrilled to announce its partnership with Medart, Inc., a prominent distribution company for engines, outdoor power equipment, and the marine industry. Landform is providing comprehensive development services for Medart’s new 100,000-square-foot distribution facility in Albertville, Minnesota. This facility, strategically located near Interstate 94, is poised to enhance Medart’s distribution capabilities and contribute to the local economy.

Through a strong partnership with property owner/developer Casey Darkenwald with Darkenwald Corporation, Landform identified the 12.9-acre site as a prime candidate for Medart’s expansion. This decision was based on the site’s size, location, and proximity to major transportation routes. Landform has been instrumental in navigating the entire development process, from initial planning and entitlement to construction management and owner’s representation, showcasing the power of collaboration in achieving successful outcomes.

The project, a collaboration with RJ Ryan, a General Contractor leader in the Twin Cities since 1978, and Lampert Architects, commenced with demolishing existing farm structures in April 2024. Grading work began in May 2024, and construction is expected to continue throughout the year. Building turnover is estimated for December.

The project’s initial phase includes a 97,814-square-foot warehouse, 7,343 square feet of office space, 14 truck docking bays, and 72 parking stalls. The site also has the capacity to accommodate an additional 84,000-square-foot building expansion in the future.

Landform continues to work closely with the City of Albertville to ensure the project complies with all regulations while protecting and preserving the existing wetlands adjacent to the site. This included the design and implementation of necessary stormwater management facilities.
