Great River Landing
Landform partnered with 4RM+ULA on a supportive housing project in downtown Minneapolis for single men with criminal histories.
Services provided for the project team included civil engineering, landscape architecture, planning and entitlement process management.
The backyard outdoor space for this residential building is small and had an ambitious program: a basketball recreational space, play area for visiting families, vegetable garden, outdoor cooking space and a general gathering space.
Landform’s landscape architects devised a multi-functional scheme where each program was given it’s own area around a central basketball court. The basketball court doubles as “plaza” and spillover space for each adjacent use. Play space for families happens on the playground equipment but also through the vegetable garden and soft mulch beds, across the basketball court and on the generous benches in the gathering and entry area.
