The project was situated on a former auto dealership site and offered many unique challenges. To allow optimal site access, the nearly 150,000-square-foot building had to be placed on poured concrete retaining walls up to 15 feet in height.
Stormwater management for the 15.5-acre site was modernized to include nearly 50,000 cubic feet of underground detention tanks and infiltration areas, which reduced stormwater runoff rates by over 70%.
Landform worked closely with Costco, the architect, the City of Burnsville, and the neighborhood organization to meet Costco’s aggressive schedule—delivering a new warehouse in 45 weeks.
