Landform provided planning, site design, surveying and construction services for a 60-unit twin-home subdivision by Lemay Lake and Augusta Lake in Mendota Heights.
The location’s challenges included its proximity to the airport, noise abatement, tree conservation, and natural preservation. Flight data and noise patterns were analyzed to determine if the site was viable for home sites and what abatement would be required from the home builder. Working with neighboring residents and city staff, Landform designed a site that minimized tree loss and took advantage of the surrounding terrain. The resulting plan included moving the homes back from the lake and putting in place a conservation easement to preserve the natural setting.
